The newest addition to the KTSM Weather Authority team will join the weekend desk this Saturday.
Celina Quintana, a graduate of New Mexico State University and Hanks High School, has been with KTSM for about a month as a reporter and now joins the weekend broadcast and Weather Authority team.
“This is a step closer to my career dreams,” Quintana said. “I’m excited, nervous but more excited than nervous because I know I am joining a really good weather team.”
Chief Meteorologist Monica Cortez said that she is honored to add Quintana to the team.
“As an intern, Celina was under my supervision before she joined the KTSM 9 News family as a forecaster,” she said. “It has come full circle for her and I having both graduated from New Mexico State University, and we are now both part of the Weather Authority team. I love her passion for weather, and her eagerness to grow as a weather forecaster. She will excel as the Weekend Weather Anchor.”
Quintana will bring her enthusiasm for the weather forecast along with her life-long knowledge of El Paso and Las Cruces to the weekend broadcast starting Dec. 15.
“I am very familiar with the area because I was born and raised here,” she said. “El Paso and Las Cruces are two different worlds at times, but they are the same when it comes to how welcome and at home I feel here.”
