The UTEP men’s golf team capped off the Arizona Intercollegaite at the Sewailo Golf Club with a final round of 298 to earn a seventh place showing in the field of 17 teams; the Miners shot rounds of 296, 294 and 298 to run their total to 888 (36-over par).
 
#10 Texas took home the team title with rounds of 284, 282 and 277 to finish at seven-under par (843).
 
Ben Getman was the best finisher for the Orange and Blue. The San Antonio native fired the best round of his collegiate career on Saturday with an even par 71. The freshman (75-76-71-222/nine-over par) ended the tournament tied for 28th place. Getman gathered 10 birdies and 30 pars on the weekend.
 
Charlie Corner (73-75-75-223) and Andreas Sorenson (73-71-79-223) both finished the weekend in 32nd place at 10-over par. Corner led the whole field in par three scoring by accumulating a cumulative score of two-under par on the short holes. Sorenson was just off Corner’s pace and finished at one-under on the par 3s for the tournament, which ranked third best in the field of 84 golfers.
 
Jose Romero (78-72-76-226) ended up tied for 47th place at 13-over par and Frederik Dreier (75-76-76-227) tallied a 51st-place showing.
