The San Elizario girls soccer team has gone where no other San Elizario girls soccer team has gone before, but the Eagles will not slow down.
For the first time in program history, the Eagles will play in the Regional Semifinals in a matchup against No. 1 Stephenville on Friday in Justin, Texas.

“They know they are capable of playing anyone in the state, especially Stephenville who is ranked number one in the state. I think they are ready,” said head coach Obed Hernandez. “They have no fear, they want that challenge, and they have that mentality that to be the best, you have to play the best.”
This is also the first time in school history that both the boys and girls teams will play in the Sweet 16.
“Everyone is really excited and nervous,” said junior defender Karla Coca. “We are looking forward to it. We are really optimistic about this game.”
Kickoff is set for 11:30 a.m. MDT at Northwest ISD Stadium.
