NMSU’s Aurrecoechea out indefinitely with knee injury

New Mexico State junior center Ivan Aurrecoechea is out indefinitely after suffering a knee injury in the Aggies’ game against UTRGV last Saturday.

NMSU did not provide a timeline for the Spaniard’s recovery, nor did they release the severity of his injury.

Aurrecoechea is the Aggies’ third-leading scorer at over 10 points per game this season and has started 10 of NMSU’s 20 games. The junior combined with senior Eli Chuha to form a formidable 1-2 punch at the center position for the Aggies.

NMSU is hopeful he’ll be able to return at some point this season, but it is unknown if Aurrecoechea will be able to. The Aggies will host UMKC on Thursday and Chicago State on Saturday.
