The Las Vegas Aviators sent 13 batters to the plate in the top of the third inning Friday, scoring eight runs on their way to a 12-4 win over the El Paso Chihuahuas. It dropped El Paso’s early record to 0-2, marking the first time in team history the Chihuahuas did not split the first two games of a season.
Esteban Quiroz went 2-for-4 with a long home run off the Southwest University Park scoreboard in right-center field. It was the second homer in as many games for Quiroz, who became the first Chihuahuas player to go deep in the first two games of a season.
Ty France reached base three times for the second consecutive game, going 2-for-4 with an RBI in the loss.
