Ashley Hernandez had a memorial December for the Bel Air High School Girls Basketball team. Hernandez was named Gallup Tournament MVP after the Highlanders won the tournament championship. Ashley has been team captain for three seasons, and her coach said she makes an impact and difference in every game she plays. Ashley might be even better in the classroom, where she is #2 in her 2019 class in the Health Magnet Program.
On Tuesday, December 5, 2017, Ashley will be presented at Bel Air High School with a banner from the Marines prior to their game against Eastlake as she was one (1) of 100 high school athletes selected nationwide as a Semper Fidelis All American. This past summer she attended the Semper Fidelis All American Battles Won Academy in Washington DC along with the other All American athletes where they met several inspirational figures such as Carli Lloyd, Cal Ripken Jr., Adeline Gray, Sage Steele, and Christian McCaffrey.
