Valdez, who was First Team All-District this past season for the Cougars, belives there is room for her to improve at NMSU.
“It makes me so happy,” said Valdez. “I’m so exicted to be able to have an opportunity like this. I know under this coaching staff I’ll do a lot better and I’ll improve a lot in swimming at NMSU.”
Valdez will join a couple former teammates at NMSU and loves the fact that she is staying close to home.
“A lot of swimmers before me have done this too,” said Valdez. “It feels great to be able to say I’m going to swim at the next level. Hopefully I can set an example for other swimmers who also want to swim later in college.”
