Excited to announce that I’m heading to the Seattle Seahawks! It’s been a crazy last 3 days but I’m very thankful for the opportunity! Let’s get to work! @Seahawks pic.twitter.com/HkPBcgTVST — Winston Dimel (@WinBone38) April 28, 2019

UTEP FB Winston Dimel (@WinBone38) accepted an invite to rookie minicamp with the #Seahawks. The perfect landing spot for Dimel with an offense that likes to get creative at the FB/H-back position. Also, no returning starter for Seattle at that position. #NFLDraft #KTSM9Sports — Andy Morgan (@AndyMorganTV) April 28, 2019
Dimel started the first six games for the Miners in 2018. He had nine receptions for 89 yards, including a 33-yard reception against North Texas. However, his season was cut short after suffering a shoulder injury in the third quarter of that game.
Dimel, a graduate transfer from Kansas State, was a three-time All-Big 12 selection. He tallied 25 total touchdowns for the Wildcats before finishing his college career at UTEP.
Rookie minicamp in Seattle begins next month. Training camp will begin in July.
Dimel joins Nik Needham (Dolphins), David Lucero (Raiders), Kahani Smith (Seahawks), and Jerrod Brooks (Chiefs) as former UTEP players to get an opportunity with an NFL team.
