Kansas State graduate transfer quarterback Alex Delton has had a change of heart. After making a verbal commitment to UTEP last month, Delton has flip-flopped his choice to TCU, according to a Twitter post made by the senior on Tuesday.
Man I am so blessed for what I’ve learned through this game & how it has shaped me. I’m proud of what I’ve done but I am not done yet… Change of plans. I will be finishing my final year at TCU. Excited to get started!!! 🐸🐸🐸@TCUFootball pic.twitter.com/is55VZtZdY— Alex Delton (@adelton005) January 16, 2019
Delton played for UTEP head coach Dana Dimel from 2015-2017 when Dimel was the Wildcats’ offensive coordinator. He recorded 16 total touchdowns in his career at Kansas State.
Kai Locksley is the presumptive starting quarterback for UTEP in 2019, but will be coming off ankle surgery when the Miners open fall camp in August. Locksley missed three games in 2018 as a result of the ankle injury. He threw for three touchdowns and rushed for another six scores, but threw nine interceptions as the Miners finished the season 1-11.
