The El Paso Chihuahuas defeated the Albuquerque Isotopes 6-4 on Tuesday night at Southwest University Park, their 14th consecutive win at home and seventh straight overall.
The win pushed the Chihuahuas to 74-52 on the season, eight games ahead of Salt Lake in the PCL’s Pacific Southern Division. Their magic number to clinch the division is now at five.
Luis Urias and Javy Guerra each had a pair of hits for El Paso, and five players recorded an RBI. Ty France hit his second Triple-A home run in the seventh inning.
Former MLB All-Star Matt Holliday is playing for the Isotopes as he gets ready to be called up to the Colorado Rockies when rosters expand in September. He went 1-3 with an RBI single in the third inning.
The Chihuahuas and Isotopes are back in action Wednesday at 6:35 p.m.
