Blair has served the past two years as Hanks’ offensive coordinator under former head coach Aaron Price, who left Hanks to take a college coaching job at Norther Arizona University.
“Coach Price taught me a lot about his offense and I really like it,” said Blair. “It’s simplistic enough that our kids can play fast, but we’re going to add some wrinkles in there and throw some new things. We’re going to have a couple different looks, but it’s going to be really exciting to watch Hanks football.”
As @AndyMorganTV reported earlier this week, Jason Blair has been officially named the new head coach at Hanks. Blair was the Knights OC the last 2 years and has over 21 years of coaching experience in El Paso. He also played college at UTEP. #txhsfb pic.twitter.com/a16R38WSYR— Colin Deaver (@ColinDeaverTV) February 7, 2019
Blair, a former UTEP football tight end, has 21 years of coaching experience in numerous sports including football, softball, wrestling, soccer, and basketball at various schools throughout the El Paso region. As a football coach, he has been a part of coaching staffs that earned six bi-district championships and one area title.
“It’s a wonderful opportunity for me, 21 years in the making and I’m glad I landed here. That’s a big deal for me.”
Blair and the Knights will look to challenge for a district championship in 2019.
