Bel Air came alive in overtime to defeat Lake Dallas 4-1 in the Class 5A Region 1 Championship Game on Saturday afternoon in Wichita Falls, Texas.
The Highlanders scored three goals in extra time to kick down the door to the state tournament. It’s Bel Air’s first trip the State Tournament in school history.
Bel Air will play in the Final 4 in Georgetown on Thursday.
Meanwhile, San Elizario beat Stephenville 4-2 in the Class 4A Region 1 Championship Game to earn a spot in the state semifinals for the second year in a row. The Eagles are looking to defend their 2018 state championship and are just two wins away from doing it.
The Eagles will play in the Final 4 in Georgetown on Wednesday.
