12 Rams Athletes Sign to Play in College

What a day at Montwood High School! Montwood High School had 12 players signing to play athletics at the next leve. The sports these student athletes play range from soccer to tennis to basketball to baseball to track & field:

•Holden Rivera signed to run track at UTEP. 

•Abraham Renteria signed to play baseball at Cameron University

•Dan Moreno, a defensive midfielder on the soccer team, has pledged to attend the University of the Southwest in Hobbs, N.M.

•Fernando Lechuga, another soccer defender, also will pledge with the University of the Southwest this fall.

•Madeleine (Choco) Munoz, a catcher and first baseman on the Rams softball team, will sign with the University of Texas at Permian Basin in Odessa, Texas.

•Abby Hernandez, a second baseman and shortstop, joins Munoz at Permian Basin.

•Shaylah Dominguez, Montwood’s outfielder and first basemen, has decided on Clarendon College in Clarendon, Texas.

•Nikki Medina, who is the team’s catcher and outfielder, will be playing softball for Western Texas College in Snyder, Texas.

•Fernie Zubia, a short stop on the district champion baseball team, will sign with Midland Junior College in Midland, Texas.

•Jose Sanchez, a tennis player for Montwood, has pledged to the University of the Southwest.

•Sofia Mcgee, a guard and forward for the Lady Rams basketball squad, plans to sign for York College in York, Neb.

•Maya Herrera, a point guard on the women’s basketball team, also will be playing for York College.
