President George H.W. Bush will be laid to rest on Thursday on the grounds of the Bush Presidential Library at Texas A&M, the school newspaper reports.
According to the report, Bush will be buried in his family plot alongside his wife, Barbara, and daughter, Robin.
Bush chose Texas A&M as the site for the presidential library, which opened Nov. 6, 1997, Texas A&M Today reports.
As KTSM reported, Bush died on Friday at age 94.
According to Texas A&M Today, the president’s casket will arrive in College Station via train on Thursday, accompanied by his family members and close friends.
Students, faculty, and staff of the university are invited to view the procession, but the ceremony will be private.
Texas A&M University System Chancellor John Sharp released the following statement regarding his death.
“Not only was George H.W. Bush one of the greatest presidents in our nation’s history, he also was one of the finest men to serve our country in so many ways,” Sharp said. “We are proud to call him a son of Texas A&M University and will do everything in our power, through his presidential library, to keep his memory and accomplishments alive for all time.”
