Young father identified as victim in Beaumont elevator accident

A young husband and father was identified by family friends as the contractor found dead inside an elevator shaft at William Beaumont Army Medical Center on Thursday.

Brandon Clifford was found on top of the 9th floor elevator just after noon on Tuesday. According to family friends, Clifford was a longtime elevator contractor who leaves behind his wife Chelsey and their 2-year-old daughter, Adelynn.

The family says they are in shock after losing such a fun, loving and caring man. Brandon was an outdoorsman at heart and loved camping, fishing, golfing, riding his quad and was passionate about his job servicing elevators.

Clifford worked for Abell Elevator International, which is headquartered in Kentucky. When KTSM attempted to reach Abell earlier this week, they declined to comment.

It is still unclear exactly what happened in the moments leading to Clifford’s death, but witnesses on the scene said it appeared he may have been electrocuted before he was found.

Family is raising money for funeral services and to assist his young family with financial needs. You can donate to the Clifford family by visiting their GoFundMe Page

If you prefer to donate in person, you can do so by dropping off donations with Susie Baca or Justin Ansara at the Lone Star Golf Club, 1510 Hawkins Dr.

In addition to his wife and young daughter, Brandon is survived by his parents Richard and Vanessa Clifford and his brother, Christopher Clifford.
