As an upper wave moves in, much of the region will be under a Wind Advisory.
Wind Advisory has taken effect through 9pm this evening, with the strongest winds arriving between 2pm-5pm.
Winds are expected to strengthen to 35mph and gust up to 55mph this afternoon. We have stayed rather dry, so blowing dust will be an issue for parts of the region.
East and Northeast El Paso are expected to get hit the hardest this afternoon, while patchy blowing dust will be prevalent in West El Paso.
Make sure to secure your trashbins and outdoor decorations this afternoon.
A KTSM 9 News Weather Authority Alert is issued whenever a severe weather event is expected which could disrupt and impact Borderland residents. Details on how to take action, timing of the weather event and the areas affected will be provided every time an alert is issued.
