NewsChannel 9 has issued a Weather Alert for the possibility of blowing dust, strong winds and reduced visibility Tuesday afternoon.

The strongest winds will be in East El Paso and along the I-10 corridor between El Paso and New Mexico. Sustained winds of 25-35 MPH are expected with gusts around 50 MPH.

The strongest winds are expected between noon and 8 p.m. As with most wind storms, NewsChannel 9 recommends you bring in any items that may be prone to fly away in the wind such as patio furniture, trampolines and loose debris.

The wind should die down by 8 p.m. Tuesday night, but expect another high wind event to happen on Friday – with potentially damaging wind.
