UPDATE (8:54 a.m.): TxDOT tweeted out an update, letting drivers know that westbound traffic had a little more room before the closure.
"The westbound closure has moved forward to Sunland Park; Schuster and Executive are now open. Eastbound remains closed at Mesa. Plan an alternate route. Closure expected until noon. Crews working on downed fiber line," the tweet read.

The El Paso Police Department also noted that it may take until noon to clear an accident on I-10 West near Executive Center.
The line is a communications line, not a power line, El Paso Electric clarified in a tweet. Spectrum has been notified, the company said.
