The alleged suspect in the Texas church shooting was a former Air Force member who was stationed at Holloman Air Force Base in New Mexico.

According to U.S. Air Force Spokeswoman Ann Stefanek, record checks confirm the shooting suspect, 26-year-old Devin P. Kelly, was previously a U.S. Air Force Member.

Stefanek said Kelly served in Logistics Readiness at Holloman until his discharge.

NBC News reports Stefanek confirmed Kelly was court-martialed in 2012 on two charges of assaulting his spouse and their child.

He was confined for a year, reduced in rank to airman basic E-1, and given a bad conduct discharge in 2014.
