Spring is here in the Borderland, and it’s the perfect time to learn how to perfect that green thumb of yours. The City of El Paso has coordinated with Texas A&M AgriLife Extension to offer free gardening workshops for the public beginning April 7th.
The community gardening workshops are part of the City’s resilience and sustainability strategy. They’re all taught by El Paso County Masters Gardeners and provide an opportunity for people of all ages and skill levels to learn how to garden appropriately for the region.
Topics covered will include identifying and selecting garden soil, water-saving irrigation techniques, lawn maintenance best practices, managing garden bugs and how to plant in each season.
The workshops will be offered free to the public on the following dates:
- Friday, April 7, 4 – 5:30 p.m.
- Friday, May 5, 4 – 5:30 p.m.
- Friday June, 2, 4 – 5:30 p.m.
