As part of TxDOT’s massive GO10 project, construction crews will be demolishing the Resler flyover ramp to Interstate 10 Eastbound.
Tuesday night at 9 p.m. the crews will begin the process. The on ramp will be closed for five days, expected to be reopen Monday around 6 a.m.
TxDOT officials say at that time drivers will get to drive on a brand new flyover ramp.
El Pasoan Jon Barela lives near Resler and frequently uses that on ramp. He says it will definitely be a headache for drivers but is excited for the finished product.
“It’s a short term pain for long term gain,” Barela said.
El Pasoan Matt Behrans isn’t as excited. He says he uses the flyover ramp every morning to go to work in downtown. With the closure he says he’ll have to take a different route that he’s not very fond of.
“I am going to weep gently in my car as I deal with Mesa,” Behrans said.
There are also several other closures coming up.
