Papayas recalled, linked to Salmonella outbreak

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) - If you have papayas in your pantry, you may want to check their labels.

The Food and Drug Administration has issued a warning about eating the Caribena brand of Maradol papayas after the fruits were linked to a Salmonella outbreak.

Officials say at least 47 people in 12 states have gotten sick, and one has died.

The FDA recommends you throw the papayas away if you have them.
