Out-of-town fans, locals enjoy 2018 Sun Bowl

Fans from within and outside the Borderland spent their New Year’s Eve afternoon enjoying the 2018 Hyundai Sun Bowl game watching Pitt against Stanford.
“Every year for about 8 years now, we’ve been coming here every Sun Bowl. So we just try to keep the support for UTEP  and support the Sun Bowl Association. That’s why we keep coming,” El Pasoan Jay Melenderz told KTSM
Some out-of-town fans showed their support and watched their relatives or family members on the turf.
“My younger brother plays for Stanford. He’s an offensive lineman. He’s said he’s really enjoyed the visit too, he went to the hospital yesterday, and they’ve really enjoyed their time here,” Dalton Powell from Mississippi shared.
From groups of friends, to families that sat together on the stands, there were still some divided fans.
Many fans told KTSM they continue their traditions by attending the Sun Bowl games this year, meanwhile others just started their traditions with their families at this years game.
