A woman is dead and two other people were injured in a two-vehicle crash that happened between Deming and Lordsburg on Christmas Eve.
According to a news release, the wreck happened at about 8:30 p.m. Monday on I-10 near mile post 47.
State police say Debra Harriman, 56, of Albuquerque was traveling west on the highway when her car left the roadway, spun into the eastbound lanes, and crashed into a vehicle.
Harriman was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver and passenger in the other vehicle suffered unknown injuries.
Police say alcohol, drugs, and improper seatbelt use appear to have been contributing factors in the crash.
