Clint Eastwood, Bradley Cooper, and other star actors will make their way from Hollywood to Las Cruces this month to film scenes for Eastwood’s upcoming flick, “The Mule”.
“We’re thrilled to welcome another production to New Mexico,” said Film Office Director Nick Maniatis. “We’re proud to see the film industry continuing to grow in and around Las Cruces – and throughout southern New Mexico.”
According to the New Mexico Film Office, the Warner Bros. and Imperative Pictures film tells the story of an financially-insecure elderly man who unknowingly signs as a drug courier for a Mexican cartel.
Officials say the film is directed and produced by Eastwood, who will star in the movie along with Bradley Cooper, Laurence Fishburne, Michael Pena, Dianne Weist, Alison Eastwood, Taissa Farmiga, and Ignacio Serricchio.
According to the film office, the production will employ about 85 New Mexico crew members and approximately 200 background talent.
“Las Cruces is excited to welcome Clint Eastwood and his new movie, ‘The Mule,’ to our community,” said Las Cruces Mayor Ken Miyagishima. “Our diverse architecture and unique filming locations, great year-round weather, and full service Film Office and film studio make Las Cruces an ideal filming location.”
