Two Fort Bliss soldiers who were considered Absent Without Leave (AWOL) have been found.

According to a Fort Bliss spokesman, Army Privates First Class Jake Obad-Mathis and Melvin Jones were both apprehended by law enforcement. Obad-Mathis was reportedly found on February 26 and Jones on January 27.

The soldiers were last seen together December 19. Both are assigned to the 1st Armored Division. According to post officials, both soldiers were found safe and healthy.

The Soldiers are facing disciplinary action for going AWOL, which could include a Court Martial.  Fort Bliss officials say the soldiers’ chain of command will take appropriate action after the investigation is complete.
