If you’re a veteran living in El Paso, a new study shows you chose a good place to call “home”.
Veterans United, a loan provider for military members, ranked the Sun City among the best in the U.S. for veterans to live.
El Paso was listed fifth in the state and 14th nationwide.
According to a news release, the study compared the 100 most populated American cities across the following four dimensions:
- Economic wellness
- Availability of veteran affairs benefits
- Quality of life for veterans
City officials say the report also examined 20 metrics relevant to veterans’ lives to determine how well the cities provide for their transition back to civilian life.
“City staff works hard to make El Paso an exceptional place to live for our military, veteran and civilian community members,” City Manager Tommy Gonzalez said. “El Pasoans deserve the best, and we are striving to provide them with an improved quality of life and continued economic growth.”
San Antonio earned the top spot, followed by Lincoln, Neb. and Arlington, Texas.
