EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) - He's a WWE wrestler, but you may not know he's also an El Paso native.
The borderland's very own Sin Cara returned home Friday to help promote this years annual First Light Federal Credit Union Sun Bowl Parade.
As we first told you, he was announced last month as the grand marshal for the parade.
The luchador turned WWE star had his humble beginnings right here growing up in the Segundo Barrio and then attending Burges High School, where he won several championships including state.
He then wrestled internationally competing both here in America and in Mexico.
Sin Cara finally made it big when he got an opportunity to try out in WWE in December 2009.
"I just started crying, I couldn't hold it, I was so happy," Sin Cara said. "I remember the first time they sent me a check, I went to the bank, and they were like, 'you work for them?' And I said, 'yes.' It was a great honor, I felt so happy, it was amazing, and now I'm gonna be there for almost 9 years."
Sin Cara said he is excited to give back to El Paso and he hopes to make more appearances in the future.
Remember you can watch Sin Cara and the rest of the parade on Thanksgiving Day on News Channel 9.
