Creative Kids previews art project on Playa Drain Trail

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) - Creative Kids, Paseo Del Norte Health Foundation, and a few schools collaborated to work on art pieces that will be permanently placed as tile murals onto the Playa Drain Trail.

"What I love about this one is that it has a lot of El Paso culture. We're known for the desert, which we have cactuses, we have plant life that comes from El Paso, that comes from the desert, which gives you that culture of what El Paso is like," Artist Eric Albarado tells KTSM.

The artwork illustrates the culture of the Borderland, which gives these young artists an audience they strive to keep the eye of.

"Our belief in kids, and in education and talent for them to showcase it, but also beautifying and make a lasting mark on our community that reflects what we're trying to do in El Paso," Creative Director Stephen Ingle shared.

The final tile murals will be put in places along the 3.4-mile trail from Ascarate Park to Riverside High School.

Creatives Kids says the expected time for the tiles to be placed on Playa Drain Trail is mid-September.
