Local News
A very special moment happened Tuesday at the Alto Missionary Baptist Church. An autistic man in the congregation was given a surprise trip to New York City to watch the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
We found Facebook video of 52-year-old Jimmy Selman on stage singing with with Grammy nominated gospel singers Jeff & Sheri Easter. The Easter family got a chance to know Jimmy pretty well that night and found out he is a huge fan of the annual parade. They were so touched by his story, they are paying for him and some close friends to fly out to this year’s parade.
KETK had a crew at the church to capture the moment when Jimmy found out about his special trip. For Jimmy and his friends,it’s a once in a lifetime opportunity. They all told us how touched they were by the Easter’s gift.
Jimmy is a huge fan of the parade, and loves talking about previous years floats and hosts. He told us he can’t wait to get to New York and watch this years parade in person.
