Juarez

JUAREZ (KTSM) – Chihuahua State Police have identified the woman found murdered in Juarez last week as Victoria Shawn Iona Anne Marsbergen, 21.

As KTSM previously reported, Marsbergen’s body was found last Tuesday lying on a dirt road near a South Juarez cemetery.

Officials say she suffered severe head trauma believed to have been caused by a heavy rock.

According to investigators, the Canadian citizen was reported missing to El Paso Police the day she was found killed.

Officials say Marsbergen was driving a 2006 gold-colored Honda on the day of her disappearance. The vehicle has still not been found.

According to data from the Chihuahua State Police, there have been upwards of 470 murders in Juarez this year, making it one of the bloodiest since 2011.
