Juarez police are investigating after three people were killed in two separate incidents on Thursday.
According to police, officers first found the body of a woman in the middle of the street in the Colonia Chavena area.
Officials say the victim, Perla Amaro, 31, was waiting for an Uber to take her to work in a maquiladora plant when the driver arrived and shot her in the head.
Amaro’s family heard the shots and ran outside to find her lying in the street.
The Uber driver immediately left the scene.
Hours later, police found the vehicle parked in a commercial area in South Juarez. The driver has not yet been identified.
According to police, two men were also shot and killed outside the Juarez General Hospital on Thursday.
Officials say officers found their bodies lying on the hospital’s sidewalk, prompting them to close off the surrounding streets to investigate.
No word yet on the victims’ identities or if anyone has been taken into custody.
The latest incidents are among the more than 100 murders in Juarez in April alone.
