As a weak storm system comes to our area we will see increased wind speeds and more seasonal temperatures.
Winds will become breezy once again for today as they come from the WSW at 15-20 mph and gusts at 25+ mph.
Increased winds and gusts will kick up around noon today, however we will see our peak winds and gusts at 5 p.m. until 7 p.m.
Some cool air within our area will keep temperatures just slightly above average for today as forecast highs will be in the mid 70s.
We will see one more day of that trend tomorrow as we will drop down to slightly below normal temperatures, but still in the mid 70s.
A storm system coming from our west will be the wind maker for both today and especially Saturday. Gusts are expected to reach 30 mph once again on Saturday.
We will also see a slight chance for showers on Saturday as our rain chances increase to 10%.
As of right now it looks like showers could start in Las Cruces around noon. But we could start to see some showers in El Paso around 1 p.m. Showers will be hit or miss until 8 p.m.
A warming trend will be quick to warm us up into the upper 70s by Sunday and 80s by Monday.
As of right now it’s looking like we will see near 90° temperatures by Tuesday.
But these increased temperatures will come with increased winds as well. So we are looking to be breezy to windy on Tuesday but our next real wind event will come on Wednesday.
Another cooling trend will kick off on Wednesday putting temperatures back in the 70s by next Saturday.
