Free holiday movies return to the Plaza Theatre

The best way to spread Christmas cheer is by going to the Plaza Theatre!

For the second straight year, El Paso Live and El Paso Community Foundation Plaza Classic Film Festival are partnering up to host free holiday movies as part of WinterFest.

The movie showtimes are scheduled as follows:

Sunday, Nov. 26

  • 1 p.m.: “A Christmas Story” (1983)
  • 3:30 p.m.: “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation” (1989)

Sunday, Dec. 3

  • 1 p.m.: “Elf” (2003)
  • 3:30 p.m.: “The Polar Express” (2004)

Sunday, Dec. 10

  • 6 p.m.: “It’s a Wonderful Life” (1946)

Sunday, Dec. 31

  • 2:30 p.m.: “Frozen” (2013)

In true theater fashion, organists will also perform on the Plaza’s original restored Wyler Mighty Wurlitzer Organ before each movie.

WinterFest, which runs from Nov. 18 through Jan. 1, also features ice skating in Arts Festival Plaza, seasonal food at the Kringle Kafe, and shopping at the Winter Market Shoppes.
