Fire Tears Through East El Paso Home

News

Firefighters with the El Paso Fire Department were called out to a home in the 9300 block of McFall Dr. around 9:30 p.m. Monday night.

The fire was near the intersection of McFall and Montwood Dr. and required Montwood to be closed to traffic between Viscount and Catnip while crews worked to extinguish the condition 3 fire. Several neighboring residences were also evacuated as a result of the massive fire.

EPFD crews say that the home was vacant. No word on what may have caused the fire, but EPFD says the damage is estimated to be approximately $200,000 and consumed about 80% of the structure. The fire was under control around 12:20 a.m.

NewsChannel 9 will update this story as soon as EPFD releases additional information about the fire.
