EPPD: Elderly couple robbed at knifepoint

El Paso Police Department is looking for the suspect who robbed an elderly couple at knifepoint on Thursday.

At approximately 5:40am an elderly couple at Yandell and St. Vrain was approached by a Hispanic male, approximately 30-years-old old 5ft 8in tall with a medium build, short black hair, beige or tan shirt and shorts. He was masked with a red bandana and a knife.

He initially approached the 89-year-old old male victim and threw him down to the ground in attempt to steal property from him. At that time, the 75-year-old old female victim intervened and was also thrown to the ground.

The unknown assailant was able to get away on foot with property from the couple.

The man suffered scrapes and bruises and the woman had facial injuries and a gash to the back of her head. Both are expected to be ok.
