An El Paso man was arrested early Sunday morning after police say he ran away from officers and even jumped fences, roofs, and into the backyards of several Northeast El Paso homes.
EPPD responded to a Family Violence call at 12:30 a.m. Sunday morning in the 5700 block of Creston in Northeast El Paso. When officers arrived, the suspect, 25-year-old Rafael Reyes, reportedly fled from officers, jumped fences and into the backyards of homes in the 5700 block of Devon.
K-9 officers and Texas DPS Air Support were called in to help officers locate Reyes. The air unit eventually spotted Reyes on a roof near a home where the K-9 officers were. He allegedly proceeded to jump off of the roof into another backyard where he was eventually located by K-9 units and air support.
Reyes was arrested and charged with Evading Arrest or Detention. He also had give outstanding Municipal Court Warrants and outstanding warrants for Assault Family Violence with Previous Conviction, Burglary of Habitation with Intent to Commit Felony, Burglary of Habitation, and Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
He was booked into the El Paso County Detention Center on bonds totaling $131,446.13.
