The announcement of finalists to replace Dr. Diana Natalicio as UTEP President has been delayed.
The UT System Board of Regents special meeting has been rescheduled. Monday’s meeting would have potentially seen a list of finalists for the University of Texas at El Paso President.
A notice said the meeting “has been temporarily postponed because of a scheduling conflict. A new time for the meeting will be posted soon, and 72-hour notice will be provided.”
The chairman of the UT board said the Regents finished their candidate interviews last week.
Students and faculty at UTEP are getting ready for the new President that will fill Dr. Natalicio’s shoes. She is retiring after 30 years as President.
The President of the UTEP Student Government Association, Cristian Botello, said that change is a good thing.
“Change is going to keep us moving forward and you, and you know as long as that person believes in the mission of UTEaP that everyone should have access to go to a university and a high level of education then I think we’re going to be fine,” said Botello.
