El Paso Independent School District officials asked voters to approve a shifting of funds, and they approved.

The “Penny Swap” passed on Tuesday night. The voters approved the district to move some of its property tax funds around in order to help obtain matching funds from the state.

Basically one part of the tax bill will increase by 10 cents while another portion of the EPISD tax bill will decrease by 10 cents, which prevent the bills of taxpayers from going up.
