Dogs involved in deadly attack euthanized by Animal Services

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) - El Paso Animal Services have confirmed that they've euthanized the four dogs involved in the deadly mauling of a 4-year-old boy in the Lower Valley last week.

Jacob Brooks, 4, of the 9100 block of Morelia was playing in his backyard in an enclosed trampoline Thursday night when the family's four dogs began attacking him. Brooks later died as a result of injuries sustained in the attack.

Officials have now identified the dogs as one pit bull and three shepherd mixes, possibly part German Shepherd.

Animal Services euthanized the four dogs late Friday evening, according to spokesman Ramon Herrera.

Funeral services for Jacob Brooks are scheduled for Thursday evening from 5 - 7 p.m. at Abundant Living Faith Center.
