Cathedral High School names new principal

News

Cathedral High School has named a new principal, and he’s no stranger to El Paso’s only all-boys Catholic school.

Adolfo Sanchez is the current assistant principal at Cathedral and has been an educator for decades.

Sanchez was selected from a pool of 200 applicants to become the next principal.

He will replace Brother Nick Gonzalez, who accepted an administrative job in the San Francisco area.

“He knows kids well…and he has a real passion for education,” Gonzalez said of his successor.

Sanchez taught English in Ysleta ISD for decades.

He says he hopes to keep the Cathedral traditions alive as the school celebrates its 95th anniversary in August.
