Bullseye! Indoor ax-throwing business coming to El Paso

Whether you’re out with the family or on a date, one new local business will help you let off some steam.

RELAXE is a new business getting ready to open its doors, allowing customers to launch axes into bullseyes and channel their inner lumberjack.

Co-owner Julian Huerta first went to an indoor ax-throwing place out of town. After the experience, he decided to open one back home.

The business features ax-throwing lanes named after famous streets in the Sun City such as Scenic Drive, Don Haskins and Glory Road.

“I’m born and raised here so I did want to have some El Paso flair,” Huerta said.

Employees will first teach customers how to properly throw an ax before they can compete against others.

“If you toss it correctly, the weight of the ax will get into the wood. You don’t have to chuck it as hard as you can,” Huerta said.

It can be difficult at first, but the satisfaction of splitting the wood is what Huerta thinks will attract customers.

“If you do come in here and you are stressed, it really does satisfy when you see that ax sinking into the wood. It feels good and you want to do it again and again,” he said.

The grand opening is Saturday, May 11th. RELAXE is located on 808 Montana in Central El Paso.

Walk-ins are welcomed and reservations can be made as of Wednesday, May 8th.
