UPDATE: Single-vehicle collision in East El Paso leads to fatality, narcotics found

Local

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The El Paso Police Department says a man died after a single-vehicle collision crashed into an electric pole on the East Side.

Police say a man driving a Ford F-150 on Wednesday crashed into a utility pole while driving south on George Dieter. The vehicle veered into the northbound lane and hit the pole.

Police say the collision happened at the intersection of George Dieter and Pebble Hills. It took out the traffic lights and electricity in the area.

“The unresponsive driver was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead,” a news release says. “Due to the discovery of a narcotic and drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle, investigators are awaiting autopsy results for a determination as to the cause of death.”
