Spirit Winds, the 40-year-old Las Cruces coffee shop, has new owners

Las Cruces News

Spirit Winds is a local coffee shop and a 40-year-old Las Cruces land mark that is now under new management.

New shop owners Matthew Hechter and Cris Urena have now settled in the city of the crosses after months of shadowing the shop’s founder, Richard Parra.

The new owners have traveled all over the nation and hope to bring different ideas. A goal they’ve set is to shine light on local artists

“We are taking it to the eco, spectrum, world wide where we can sell everything globally just a click away and hopefully we can open a new location where else but right now were just really focusing on this location,” said Urena.

Urena added that to them, it’s all about family and bringing the community together.

Spirit Winds is on South Locust street, near the Pan Am Center.
