Report: George Lopez charged with battery following scuffle at Las Cruces Hooters

Las Cruces News

George Lopez is facing charges following an alleged scuffle at a Las Cruces Hooters restaurant last month, TMZ reports.

As KTSM previously reported, the comedian was seen reaching for a man’s camera — and firmly grasping the him from the back of the neck — after he reportedly taunted him with pro-Trump sayings.

According to TMZ, Lopez will have to appear in court next month on a misdemeanor battery charge.

A police report obtained by the entertainment website revealed that Lopez told law enforcement that he didn’t want to be filmed and tried to push the man’s phone away.

TMZ only reported that Lopez was in a New Mexico Hooters. However, Lopez was in Las Cruces that night shooting the movie “Walking with Herb,” along with Edward James Olmos.
