NMSU to hold free Lamaze classes this fall

The New Mexico State University School of Nursing will offer Lamaze childbirth preparation classes for free to pregnant women in their sixth to eighth month of pregnancy.

NMSU nursing faculty and students are teaching the educational classes to women. To register, call college associate professor Martha Morales at 575-646-8089 or email at moralest@nmsu.edu during the 16th to 24th week of pregnancy as classes fill quickly.

The six-week course will start in late August in the College of Health and Social Services building. Pregnant women must be 24 to 32 weeks pregnant by the first class. The course will be held every Monday from 6:30-8:30 p.m. The first group will meet Aug. 22 to Oct. 3; the second group will meet Oct. 10 to Nov. 28, excluding Sept. 5 and Nov. 21.

A support person is welcome to attend with the mothers. Free parking is available off Jordan Street. For more information on Lamaze childbirth education classes, visit www.lamaze.org.
