Las Cruces Police are investigating after two separate shootings injured two men on Sunday.

According to a news release, police first responded at about 3 a.m. to MountainView Regional Medical Center where a man arrived with a gunshot wound to his leg.

The victim, 39, reportedly told investigators that the shooting happened somewhere on Dona Ana Road, but officers were unable to find the exact location.

According to the release, the victim said the shooter was in a white vehicle, possibly a Nissan Altima, that was occupied by three other young men.

His injuries were non-life-threatening.

Shortly after the first incident, officers were dispatched to a second shooting at the Pic Quik store located at 1501 E. Amador Ave.

Police say the victim, a 21-year-old man, was in the parking lot when he was hit by gunfire. He was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening.

Investigators believe a newer-model, dark-color vehicle was involved in that incident.

Anyone with information on either shooting is asked to call police at (575) 526-0795.
