A 9-year-old girl who was reported missing in Lubbock, Texas on October 21, 2016 was located after fans of a popular television show tipped police off to her location in New Mexico.
Mariah Martinez was located after her case was featured on Live PD on A&E Network. The television show has devoted fan on social media who worked to gather information on Martinez’s whereabouts.
According to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, Martinez was found safe this week after her case aired Friday on Live PD.
“We received a viewer tip & worked w/ Lubbock Police Department & New Mexico State Police to find her,” according to a post on the agency’s Facebook. “Big thank you for bringing home one of our missing kids!”
Details regarding Martinez’s exact location in New Mexico were not immediately available. However, Lubbock Police said they suspected that the girl was in New Mexico with relatives but often times they were unable to take custody of missing children due to jurisdictional restrictions.

El Paso Police Department have also played an active and prominent role on the A&E series since the fall when the latest season of Live PD debuted.
