Kevin Mickle Arrest mug

A 40-year-old Las Cruces man has been arrested on suspicion of having inappropriate sexual contact with a teen girl .

Officers became aware of the situation after the victim, a 17-year-old girl, told someone at school that she had been sexually assaulted by Kevin Mickle three times in either June or July at his home, the Las Cruces Police Department said in a news release.

Investigators determined that Mickle and the girl knew each other well enough to be in each others company and the assault was “corroborated” in emails and texts between Mickle and the victim’s mom.

Officers arrested Mickle on Oct. 16 after a warrant was issued for three counts of criminal sexual contact of a minor. He was booked into the Dona Ana County Detention Center where he is being held without bond, the release said.
