Las Cruces breaks record for World’s Largest Nachos

Las Cruces News

Las Cruces broke a world record this weekend, and it’s “nacho” ordinary one!

The city unveiled its 5,000-pound heap of nachos at its “Noche de Nachos” event at the Plaza de Las Cruces Saturday night.

Composed of 900 pounds of chips, 450 pounds of salsa, and 2,200 pounds of cheese, the nacho display broke the Guinness World Record for Largest Serving of Nachos.

Once it was complete, a crowd of hungry spectators were able to dig in. According to city officials, a large portion was also donated to the Gospel Rescue Mission.
